Leverage Became the Consultant Agency of EPD China

In January 2023, Shanghai Leverage Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. (Leverage Limited) successfully joined EPD China and became its approved evaluation agency.

In the future, Leverage will actively participate in the formulation and release of product category rules (PCR) and the evaluation of environmental product declarations (EPD) carried out by the EPD China platform, and work with relevant stakeholders to jointly establish an EPD China standardization platform.

About Environment Product Declaration(EPD)

EPD China was founded on September 9, 2020 by Huasheng Green Industry Foundation - Green Ark International Alliance, Shanghai Green Manufacturing Alliance, Belt and Road Environmental Technology Exchange and Transfer Center (Shenzhen), Shanghai Huanyi Environmental Technology Co., LTD. The goal of EPD China is to provide a professional EPD creation platform with both Chinese localization and international standardization. Its functions integrate PCR development, LCA research, EPD review, and EPD release, and are compatible with carbon footprint and carbon inventory tools, helping to achieve China's "3060" carbon peak and carbon neutral goals.

The purpose of EPD (China) is to establish a sustainable product, technology and economic community with extensive participation, co-creation and sharing, and mutual assistance, EPD (China) supports the design, R&D, innovation, manufacturing of green products and services, education of green consumption, market construction of green products, policy and standard advocacy, etc.

What is EPD

EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) reports the environmental data of the product's entire life cycle in accordance with the international standard ISO14025. EPD helps buyers and consumers better understand the sustainability and environmental impact of products. EPD is one of the environmental labels issued by the International Organization for Standardization ISO. Europe, the United States, Germany, France, Japan, etc. have successively carried out EPD verification

The release of the EPD report provides strong support for product ecological design, green procurement, and green consumption. The certification results of EPD can be used as reference factors in the eco-design process. Among them, the type III environmental label, because it is based on quantitative LCA analysis, can be directly used as the basis for eco-design, providing data support for material selection in eco-design. The certification results of EPDs provide purchasers and consumers with another parameter option besides product performance, price, function and other parameters -- environmental impact. Consumers can also include environmental impact into the selection criteria, so as to guide and promote consumers to carry out green consumption.
