On the afternoon of April 12th, the first Shanghai Chamber of Commerce Maritime Salon event, co-hosted by the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce (Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce) and the Changning District Government of Shanghai, and co-organized by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, was held at the Shanghai Hongqiao Hotel. The event was themed "Enhancing ESG Capacity and Promoting High-Quality International Development of Enterprises". The event was attended and addressed by Shou Ziqi, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Political Consultative Conference, Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce, and President of the Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce; Zhang Wei, Secretary of the Changning District Committee; and Wang Luoqing, Standing Committee Member of the Changning District Committee and President of the Changning Overseas Friendship Association, who also chaired the event. Shi Dengding, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce (General Chamber of Commerce), was also present. Mr. Qu Weifeng, General Manager of Leverage, was also invited to participate in the event.

As one of the key activities of the Shanghai Private Economy High-Quality Development Service Month, the event brought together over 180 participants, including commercial consuls from foreign consulates in Shanghai, representatives from China-foreign chambers of commerce, private entrepreneurs, and leaders of professional service organizations. They gathered in Changning to share ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) best practices, exchange thoughts on sustainable development, and explore broader paths for international development, all centered around the theme of "Enhancing Corporate ESG Capabilities and High-Quality International Development."

Notably, the event featured the launch of the initiative for Shanghai private enterprises actively practicing ESG principles. Representatives from six ESG professional service institutions in Shanghai, including Shanghai Leverage Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., Shanghai Xinguo Technology Group Co., Ltd., Wind Information Co., Ltd., Wancai Green Gold (Shanghai) Digital Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Huazhen Index Information Service Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Inger Certification Co., Ltd., jointly issued the initiative. Mr. Qu Weifeng, General Manager of Leverage, was also invited to the stage to join five other representatives in calling on private enterprises to define clear long-term development goals and integrate ESG principles deeply into their corporate culture and development strategies. They urged the establishment of a sound management standard system, active participation in sustainable development, enhancement of external information disclosure mechanisms, and the promotion of healthy growth and long-term prosperity of enterprises. Additionally, they emphasized the importance of practicing key social responsibility measures to create social value and enhance public welfare.

It is our great honor for Leverage to represent ESG service providers and actively advocate the implementation of ESG concepts among private enterprises. We have been striving to encourage private enterprises to embrace ESG principles. We offer services including research, training, certification, auditing, and strategic consulting in areas such as compliance, ESG, and dual carbon for sustainable development. We hope that through our efforts, more Chinese enterprises can integrate into the global supply chain more conveniently, responsibly, and confidently. This has always been our unwavering direction.
Looking ahead, the promising future of carbon neutrality by 2060 may not be far off, as it begins with each of our actions in the present. Every commitment to carbon neutrality, every net-zero target, and every effort to reduce emissions for achieving green development made by enterprises will pave the way toward a brighter future. In the future, we hope more enterprises will prioritize environmental and social sustainability, integrating ESG principles deeply into their corporate culture and development strategies. By establishing long-term sustainable development goals, ESG can truly take root and become an intrinsic driving force for business growth. Through the establishment of clear ESG goals and strategic planning, enterprises can strengthen their focus on environmental protection, social responsibility, and governance structure, fostering comprehensive progress and long-term development. We will also leverage our team’s expertise to support enterprises in their sustainable development transformations. Looking ahead, we hope to collaborate with more partners to jointly advance the progress of ESG development in China.
