At the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the World Meteorological Organization released a report stating that the period from 2011 to 2020 was the hottest decade on record in human history. On July 6, 2023, the Earth’s average surface temperature was likely the highest in 120,000 years. Against the backdrop of global warming and increasingly frequent extreme weather events—such as droughts, torrential rains, floods, and blizzards—human survival faces enormous crises and challenges. The energy transition has become crucial to achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement.

In this context, the "First Green Energy and Industrial Future Forum & 2024 Green Light ESG Awards Exemplary Case Collection," jointly organized by China Energy News, China Energy Economics Research Institute, and Green Light Climate Institute, was grandly launched. The 2024 Green Light ESG Awards Exemplary Case Collection aims to highlight exemplary sustainable (ESG) cases in the green energy and related industrial chains. 

The 2024 Green Light ESG Awards Exemplary Case Collection aims to highlight outstanding sustainable (ESG) practices within the green energy sector and related industrial chains. It seeks to identify and honor exemplary initiatives that successfully integrate economic, social, and environmental values in the pursuit of low-carbon transition, climate change adaptation, and green development. By facilitating cross-industry learning and exchange, the program supports global efforts to achieve climate neutrality and net-zero emissions, contributing to an ecologically balanced society where humanity and nature coexist in harmony. The initiative has attracted active participation from numerous leading enterprises. As the nomination period draws to a close, Leverage has been successfully shortlisted for the awards in recognition of its exceptional performance and achievements in the field of ESG.
